Erik ten Hag confirms two starters for Manchester United v Real Betis

Erik ten Hag has confirmed two of his starters for Manchester United against Real Betis.

Both Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are just one booking away from a suspension for the Europa League quarter-finals.

Ten Hag responded at his press conference when asked if he would rest either player: “No, we play both because it’s a very good opponent.

“Last week we had a good result but we have to go again and you need your best players. We need a result, we need a win, so then we need our best team.”

Casemiro is suspended at domestic level for four games after a red card at the weekend, and he will be keen to avoid receiving a one-game Europa ban.

United without Antony

Antony scored United’s second goal in the 4-1 win at Old Trafford but he is unavailable due to illness and was not part of the travelling squad.

With Alejandro Garnacho out injured, United are a little light in the wide positions, but Ten Hag does not see it that way.

He told the club website: “You will see tomorrow. We have some options. Of course we have Sancho, we have Elanga, we have Bruno.

“So we have several options but Pellistri is definitely also one and he is doing really well lately when he came on.”

Pellistri would make his first ever start for Manchester United if selected to start the game.

With a 4-1 lead already, United could mix up the selection a little, but he does not intend to take Real Betis lightly.

Young midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal did not make the trip, with Marcel Sabitzer returning after missing the last two games with injury.

Anthony Martial did not fly to Spain and it is expected he will only return to the side after the international break.
