MI Women registered a resounding victory over Gujarat Giants (GG) in the opening fixture of WPL 2023. MI Women won the match by a whooping margin of 143 runs which is massive in Women’s Cricket where they outplayed GG in all the 3 facets of the game. It was a collective effort from MI Women’s bowling unit where they hunted in a pack. Saika Ishaque was the pick of the bowlers where she took 4 wickets for 11 runs in her 3.1 overs.
Gujarat Giants would be in a state of shock as the team had got a lot of match winners. Perhaps, the injury blow of skipper Beth Mooney proved to be decisive as the left-handed batter in the 1st over of the run chase had a cramp that ruled her out.
