4-3-3: Manchester United predicted XI v West Ham: Eriksen to start as forward faces axe

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways as they head to the London Stadium to face West Ham on Sunday.

After Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Brighton, United must win here to keep top four comfortable. Brighton scored in the 98th minute from the penalty spot to win a hotly contested game.

United have struggled massively away from home this season, and West Ham’s recent form will ensure this isn’t an easy match.

Despite this a win gives United a massive boost in the race for top four.

West Ham looked threatened with relegation until recently, now sitting four points off the drop. Likely a win vs United would secure survival with three games to go.

A win for the Red Devils can keep Liverpool at least four points behind, with a game in hand.

United have beaten the Hammers twice this season with a 1-0 in the league at Old Trafford. Followed by a 3-1 in the FA Cup in March again at Old Trafford.

Predicted Manchester United line-up vs West Ham

Despite yet another shaky game in his distribution, Erik ten Hag will no doubt have to pick David de Gea. Hopes remain fixed on a replacement in the upcoming market.

The defence for United is expected to be the same with Raphael Varane not yet ready to return. Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka should line up in the full back slots. In the centre, Victor Lindelof will start and Luke Shaw next to him despite giving away a late penalty on Thursday.

In midfield, Fred should be dropped given his woeful performance vs Brighton. Therefore, ten Hag will probably return to his favoured three of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.

In attack, Alejandro Garnacho could feature however a start is unlikely. Elsewhere Anthony Martial was poor on Thursday so Marcus Rashford is the best option up front. Either side of him should be Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot; Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes; Antony, Rashford, Sancho.
