Manchester United face serious competition for 23-goal target

Manchester United are set to face competition from Real Madrid for Randal Kolo Muani.

Spanish newspaper AS reported last week that Real Madrid were set to abandon pursuit of Harry Kane already, due to Tottenham’s high asking price.

The Times now report Manchester United are also losing hope of signing Kane this summer.

And this could leave both clubs on a collision course for Randal Kolo Muani, report BILD.

Randal Kolo Muani wanted by Manchester United

Manchester United have been linked to Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani since the start of 2023.

He has scored 23 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga side this season, and also has an impressive 11 assists.

Real Madrid’s interest is a concern, with the La Liga side looking for a replacement for Karim Benzema.

Muani has just been voted as Frankfurt’s best player of the 2022/23 season, German outlet Mittelhessen report.

The Athletic reported at the start of the month that Manchester United technical director John Murtough has held talks with Frankfurt over a move for Muani.

The German side are expected to hold out for a high price for the striker, who they only signed last summer on a permanent deal from Nantes.

If Muani does rank highly on Manchester United’s list of targets, then now is the time for the club to show him they are serious.

If not, then Real Madrid could move swiftly to tie up a deal, just like they did with Jude Bellingham.
