Manchester United are close to tying up a deal for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. Here is a look at who could be next.
Mason Mount will become Manchester United’s first summer signing after a fee was agreed with Chelsea, per The Athletic.
Let’s take a look at the names expected to follow Mason Mount in at Carrington…
Andre Onana
Why? Manchester United have not committed to David de Gea and his contract is set to expire on June 30.
Andre Onana played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax and is an upgrade on De Gea in terms of his passing, which will help United to retain possession.
What’s the latest? Manchester United have held discussions with Inter Milan over a deal. The Serie A side are ready to cash in on a player they signed for free a year ago, per Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rasmus Hojlund
Why? Manchester United need to sign a striker and Rasmus Hojlund is viewed as one of the best up and coming strikers on the market.
The Dane is only 20, and United aim to buy low before his fee rockets even higher next summer, and competition increases.
What’s the latest? Manchester United and Atalanta held talks earlier this month, per TuttoMercatoWeb. This one had gone a little quiet, with United focused on Mount. Once that deal is concluded, and the goalkeeper situation resolved, attention will turn to a striker.
Axel Disasi
Why? Manchester United are expected to need an additional centre-back if Harry Maguire is sold during the transfer window.
Monaco defender Axel Disasi is at the top of Manchester United’s list, per L’Equipe.
What’s the latest? This move will be dependent on Maguire’s exit, and will also hinge on how much United want a striker, and if the club want a second striker. But the deal is there to be done if United want to proceed.
