'My last match': Manchester United striker target announces upcoming departure amid Victor Osimhen comparison

Adama Bojang believes he has played his ‘last match’ at Steve Biko FC with Manchester United one of many Premier League clubs eyeing the so-called ‘Gambian Hurricane’.

With a nickname like that – and with his agent drawing comparisons with the likes of Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o and even Mohamed Salah – the expectations on Adama Bojang’s shoulders will be heavy indeed if the teenage striker completes his highly-anticipated move to Europe during the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian and Fabrizio Romano, there is interest from Manchester United – and just about every other Premier League club – in the 19-year-old poacher.

‘Hurricane Adama’ blew away almost every defender who dared to cross his path at the U20 African Cup of Nations. He scored four times before Gambia were beaten in the final by Senegal; his performances sending scouts the planet-over into a frenzy.

The next time Bojang takes to the field at club level, meanwhile, could see him pulling on a brand new shirt for the very first time.

Whether it’s the red of Man United, however, only time will tell.

Manchester United in Adama Bojang race

“I’ve already played my last match with Steve Biko FC,” Bojang says, in quotes reported by Africa Foot United. “I have a great feeling (about my future). I feel so proud of myself and of the club, with my team-mates.

“The decision is in the hands of Allah. But we hope for the best and wait for the result. I would like to play in the top European leagues.”

There is also interest from Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli and more, Steve Biko FC (a club named in honour of the anti-apartheid activist) reportedly willing to sell for a fee in the region of £2.5 million.

A fee that could one day be viewed a bargain to end all bargains. Especially if Bojang succeeds in following the footsteps of Drogba, Eto’o, Salah and co.

“Adama is the best African player I’ve seen in the last decade,” his agent, Sacha Empacher, tells Sky Germany.

“He has the potential to become one of Africa’s great forwards, along with Drogba, Eto’o, Salah and (Victor) Osimhen.”
