Outcasted United star attracting interest from La Liga

Manchester United are set to have a mass exodus this summer, one name on the list being Eric Bailly who is attracting interest from Spain.

The Ivory Coast defender has spent the past season on-loan in France at Marseille. However he failed to impress the French side who haven’t exercised the £6m option they had.

Bailly as usual missed a lot due to injuries, roughly 77 days in total. When he did feature he performed with a mix of inconsistency and danger. He also missed seven games due to suspension following a high boot during a French Cup tie.

Therefore Bailly is set to return to Old Trafford before likely departing permanently, with one club most interested.

It has been reported by Mundo Deportivo who claim Betis have been interested in Bailly for years. The report suggests they have been aware of the defender since his time in the RCD Espanyol academy.

With just one year remaining on his deal, his time at United is numbered even if he survives the clearcut.

Bailly to exit Old Trafford

Manchester United will be under no illusion; they are unlikely to recoup much of the £32m they spent on once promising centre-back. In fact United may count themselves lucky to receive anything near the option Marseille had last season.

Selling him would rather be beneficial in getting his £80,000 wage per week off the books, freeing that money up for a potential signing.

Bailly will likely welcome a move back to Spain, given that is where he made his name and had his most successful years. It could be a move which reignites his career, if he can keep himself fit.

The sale would also likely mean United would move closer to bringing in a new defender to bolster the ranks.
