Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher‘s 16-year-old twins are the target of a bid from United who hope to lure the starlets across the city.
The story comes as an exclusive from David Ornstein who tweeted that United have launched a bid to sign both Jack and Tyler Fletcher from the Citizens.
Despite their fathers storied Old Trafford career, both Fletchers came through the Manchester City academy, shining in their on field displays.
However, they now both look set to join the red side of Manchester for what Ornstein describes as a ‘substantial fee’.
The two midfielders are highly regarded in youth football, and many believe they are amongst the most promising talents in the country.
Fletcher joined the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Phil Neville by placing his children at City, due to their impressive youth set-up.
It is believed Fletcher‘s senior role at United along with a desire from head of academy Nick Cox – has made the Fletcher brothers the academy’s top targets.
Jack and Tyler Fletcher’s playing style
Despite being twins the two youngsters like to do things differently, for example, Jack has decided to play for England while Tyler has followed his father representing Scotland.
Jack is a more offensive player, capable of grabbing a goal from outside the area and inside too.
Tyler is a more traditional midfielder and more like his father in terms of style.
Both however are technically sound and smart footballers, as you would expect with an ex-pro as a father.
The two have been key in City’s age-group dominance and the hierarchy at The Etihad were keen to keep them.
