Report: European finalists make decision to sell 'World-Class' United target

According to reports, Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat is set to be sold by Fiorentina due to substantial interest in the midfielder.

The Serie A side are keen on securing a quick transfer for the departure of their Moroccan midfield general after deciding they will sell him.

According to Italian outlet Firenze Viola, Fiorentina came to an agreement with Amrabat’s representatives and are now listening to offers around €30million (£25.6m).

Having burst into stardom at the World Cup, guiding Morocco to the semi-finals, Amrabat has been subject of interest from Europes biggest sides.

Having attempt to make a move to La Liga giants Barcelona happen in January, it seems time for Amrabat to depart.

Manchester United are specifically mentioned in the report which states the Carabao Cup holders hold an interest in the player, who Erik ten Hag knows well.

Can United sign Amrabat?

Morocco head coach Walid Regragui tried to warn everyone of Amrabat’s quality. He told press, “Trust me, Amrabat is a world-class player,” prior to the World Cup and he was proven right as his midfielder went on to dominate multiple European sides.

Despite an evident interest in the quality midfielder and the fact he would be an excellent signing, United don’t currently have the facilities.

A midfielder has already arrived in the form of Mason Mount for £55m, and a goalkeeper and striker are expected to be next.

Therefore a move for the second midfielder that Ten Hag craves might be a long way off, relying heavily on the potential sales that can generate extra budget.

With the reported departures of both Fred and Scott McTominay, this move would be brilliant and also necessary, as it would leave United with just one holding midfielder.

We wouldn’t expect a move to be imminent with a long way still to go on sales. But Amrabat won’t be available forever with clubs circling already.
