Ex Man Utd man gives instant reaction to Rasmus Hojlund first game at Old Trafford

Manchester United had only a handful of positives to take from their 3-1 loss to Brighton, one of which being Rasmus Hojlund.

The Danish striker made his full debut for Manchester United against Brighton and impressed with his link-up and all round gameplay.

Using his physicality well and working the defenders, but in the end, the service just wasn’t there are Marcus Rashford chose shooting from tight angles over crossing.

Despite no goal, he was agonisingly close, with the ball being judged by VAR to have slightly crossed the line out for a goal-kick.

But even though he was goalless, his performance will great and has people raving about his display.

Hojlund praised by Higginbotham

Only 12 minutes into the game, one former United talent was already sold on Hojlund.

Danny Higginbotham posted on X explaining: “Really like the look of Hojlund. Focal point that Man United have missed for so long.”

He continued: “Ability to link up play and also stretch the game to create space for others. Movement in the box looks top class as well.”

Testament to the youngsters display, Old Trafford booed when it was announced he was coming off and Anthony Martial would replace him.

Rasmus will be a hit

We know it’s early, but already Hojlund is so clearly destined for the stars.

He was woefully unlucky in the past two games to not have first played a key role in Alejandro Garnacho’s goal against Arsenal which was offside.

But also his first goal which was millimetres away from being given.

We expect it is just a matter of time before he finds the net properly and starts racking up the goals for United.
