Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri played his first ever start at Old Trafford this week in the win over Crystal Palace.
You think Sofyan Amrabat had to wait a long time for his first Old Trafford start? That’s nothing on Facundo Pellistri.
It was October 2020 he signed for Manchester United. Tuesday night was his third ever start for the club, following away starts against Real Betis and Bayern Munich.
The match against Palace was his first competitive first team at Old Trafford, almost a full three years since his move from Penarol.

Facundo Pellistri made a strong impression, as part of a lively attack, and was involved in the build-up to Alejandro Garnacho‘s opener.
Manchester United supporters were impressed with Pellistri’s work rate and directness, and he is becoming a favourite.

Facundo Pellistri in mix to start this weekend
Jadon Sancho and Antony remain out for the foreseeable future and Facundo Pellistri has a strong chance to start this weekend against Palace.
Alternatives include playing Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, or Alejandro Garnacho out of position on the right.
Pellistri will hope he did enough to warrant a first ever Premier League start. It’s only a matter of time.
