Sofyan Amrabat shows what he can do

Sofyan Amrabat packed a lot into his hour on the pitch, playing 60 minutes before youngster Dan Gore came onto replace him.

By that stage the job was done, with United 3-0 up thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial.

Amrabat had started the game at left-back, amid an injury crisis, before playing in midfield for the first 15 minutes of a second half.

He brought the expected combination of power, tenaciousness, and energy to the team, and looked in control of everything he was doing.

Amrabat sends message

Amrabat sent a message on Instagram after the game, expressing his pleasure at stepping onto the Old Trafford pitch.

He is hungry for more, adding: “Fantastic feeling to play and win in the Theatre of DREAMS. Thank you for the support! Looking forward to Saturday.”

Amrabat’s contribution was welcomed by his teammates and there were responses to his post from Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo who is currently out injured.

There was even a message from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who congratulated him on making the performance he had waited and fought so hard for.
