Manchester United are set to battle it out with Juventus to sign Oscar Zambrano, but who is the young Ecuadorian.
Oscar Zambrano is a 19-year-old midfielder who has peaked the interest of multiple top European sides.
Manchester United are set to join both Juventus and Barcelona in pursuit of the talented South American according to Tutto Juve.
Zambrano currently plays for LDU Quito where he is a regular in defensive midfield.
With a current market value of just over £1 million, a move would likely be aimed toward the future.
Who is Oscar Zambrano?
Oscar Zambrano is Ecuador’s next hottest prospect, and at just 19-years old is already showing his talent.
Born in Santo Domingo, the similarities to Moises Caicedo are unavoidable given their similar positions, style and place of birth.
With just two years between the two, Zambrano has time to reach an elite level, however he is severely less on the radar than is compatriot.
With 14-caps for Ecuador’s under-20s a senior call up is likely imminent, especially if a move to Europe and Old Trafford happens.
Manchester United’s interest could be seen as a desperation to not miss out again like they did with Caicedo.
Will Manchester United sign Oscar Zambrano?
Zambrano has been really good for LDU this season which is why he is being linked with a move.
Manchester United will no doubt be keen given the success that youngsters from South America have had in recent years and they’ve shown they’re willing with the move for Facundo Pellistri.
A move however doesn’t feel imminent given the financial woes which United are facing but he would be so cheap, with tremendous upside so a deal makes sense.
Right now we wouldn’t say a deal is imminent but if he continues these performances in Ecuador, we have no doubt John Murtough will come calling sooner than later.
