Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been speaking about new signing Rasmus Hojlund, his international teammate.
Christian Eriksen is back in Denmark for international duty, which means his nation’s press have been quick to ask him about the nation’s new star striker, £64 million man Rasmus Hojlund.
After an injury-hit first month, and brief debut just before the last international break, Hojlund has settled into a role as a starter.
Hojlund has scored three goals for Manchester United, all of which have been scored in the Champions League.
Eriksen says Hojlund followed advice
Christian Eriksen says he has tried to help his new teammate settle in, and is glad to see the midfielder has followed his advice off the pitch.
Speaking to Ekstrabladet, he said: “We’ve been out to eat, he’s been over at my house, and we see each other every day at the club.
“He doesn’t need to be put in place. I have given him my advice, and he has chosen to live close to the stadium and the training facility, so he has listened there.”
Eriksen added that he has a very positive view of Hojlund’s start, and believes he is a good fit for manager Erik ten Hag.
“I think Rasmus has been a wise purchase. He’s a guy who fits into the squad, fits into the way of playing, understands the coach’s ideas, and he’s a good guy who works hard.”
Hojlund just getting started
Rasmus Hojlund is still looking for his first Premier League goals, but considering he has scored three in the Champions League, United don’t need to worry.
United have three games later this month after the international break, away at Sheffield United, then at home to Hojlund’s former side Copenhagen, then the derby against City.
Hojlund has shown so far that he can score, if he is given the right service. United are still trying to get that part right.
