Manchester United reportedly want 'very fast' £25m teenager, months after Ineos-backed Nice had bid rejected

Ineos are on board at Manchester United and we are bound to see a number of rumours connected to one of their other clubs, Nice.

United are now linked to both Nice and Lausanne-Sport under the Ineos umbrella thanks to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment.

There is scope for United to move players out on loan to Nice or Lausanne-Sport thanks to that connection and one such rumour has already arrived.

United are reportedly interested in signing Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino with the idea of loaning him straight on to Nice.

That would be a fascinating move with Anselmino showing big potential over in Argentina and he may well have a huge future ahead of him.

Loaning players to Nice is one thing, but what about the possibility of United going for players that the Ligue 1 side missed out on?

That may sounds unlikely but it may actually be materialising amid United’s interest in one Barcelona prospect…

Manchester United want Mikayil Faye

Reports suggest that United have been scouting Barcelona talent Mikayil Faye for three months now.

The defender scored on his Senegal debut against Gabon over the weekend and United were there to watch it.

Faye only joined Barcelona from NK Kustosija last summer and is currently featuring in their B team.

A real prospect at just 19, Faye has yet to make his first-team debut and United seemingly view him as competition for Lisandro Martinez as a left-sided centre back.

Barcelona slapped a €400million release clause in Faye’s contract, as they are required to do in line with La Liga regulations, but United may hope for better success than Nice had in January…

Ineos have already failed to land Faye once this year

The Daily Mail’s initial report states that Nice – under the control of Ineos – offered £13million for Faye in January but Barcelona rejected the bid.

Nice’s business may be led by sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, but it doesn’t feel like a coincidence that Faye is now on the radar at United.

Faye may have been on the radar earlier in the season but the interest seems to be ramping up now Ineos are on board.

The defender is now thought to be valued at around £25million, almost double the price Nice offered in January.

Ineos may be hoping that it’s case of second time lucky with United now chasing the ‘very fast’ teenager ahead of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona need to sell players this summer and if United come calling with an offer for Faye, there may well be a great chance of a deal.

Who knows, maybe Faye will be viewed like Anselmino; a player United can sign and loan to Nice for first-team experience.

The link between the two clubs is now clear thanks to Ineos and we may need to get used to the idea of loaning players and possibly even sharing targets moving forward.
