Manchester United legend David de Gea has outlined his wage demands to one club after talks have started between both parties, according to stunning reports.

David de Gea, who lifted the Premier League Golden Glove in his final season, has been without a club since his spell at Manchester United came to an end in 2023.

The 33-year-old former United star was keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford before talks over a new deal broke down.

De Gea left Old Trafford after 12 seasons and has been a free agent since then, with the United legend spending time on the sideline waiting for his next move.

De Gea’s wage demands for one club

David de Gea has attracted interest from clubs around the world, including from his native homeland of Spain, England, Saudi Arabia and Italy.

The former Manchester United No 1 has regularly teased fans on social media with training clips ahead of his long-awaited return to football.

De Gea had been linked with Genoa this summer, but the Serie A club were unable to reach an agreement on personal terms, despite holding talks with the player.

Fiorentina were another Serie A side team linked with De Gea and reportedly approached the free agent about a potential move to Italy.

It was previously reported that Fiorentina walked back on their decision to sign the Spaniard due to De Gea’s ‘unacceptable’ wage demands.

However, Corriere dello Sport reports that Fiorentina have since rekindled their interest in De Gea and have ‘already started contact with his entourage.’

According to the newspaper, De Gea is ‘asking’ Fiorentina for ‘2 million euros’ alongside one ‘linked to bonuses.’

It is believed that De Gea wants ‘an option in his favour for the 2025-2026 season,’ which would include the chance to ‘earn 3 million plus 1 in bonuses.’

Corriere dello Sport added that Fiorentina head coach Raffaele Palladino would ‘very willingly’ welcome De Gea to his team should a transfer happen.

The Italian publication added that former Spain international De Gea ‘would willingly accept the idea’ of moving to Italy if his terms are met.

De Gea made a whopping 545 appearances for United across his 12 seasons at Old Trafford after his move from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in 2011.

The former United star lifted a Premier League title, a Europa League trophy, an FA Cup and two League Cups during his illustrious spell at Old Trafford.
