Ineos triple swoop has Man Utd spine sorted for the next 15 years - Opinion

Ineos is building a wonderkid dynasty at Manchester United, and the latest addition has sorted out the spine of the club.

The Manchester United academy is in a golden era, with several potential world-class talents in the ranks at Carrington.

The club has gone on an academy recruitment drive, and Ineos now have six of English football’s best wonderkids on the books.

However, Ineos has not rested with this and have added 18-year-old Malian midfielder Sekou Kone to the ranks in a move which will have left the rest of Europe jealous.

The addition also means Manchester United have now got the spine of the team sorted for the next decade or longer.

Ineos has handed Manchester United a spine for the next 15 years

In just over a month, Ineos have signed three teenagers who have the potential to become elite – with all three playing positions which could form the spine of a team.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s footballing plan seems to be rebuilding United with one eye on the future. Signing unbelievable talent who are either from elite clubs or targeted by elite clubs.

Kone arrives at an already young talented squad which has an academy filled to the brim with elite prospects but this window has seen two world-class additions along with Kone.

Leny Yoro may be a £52m player and therefore hardly a coup, but he could be the world’s best centre-back for a decade or longer. At just 18, he is absolutely young enough to be considered in this dynasty of wonderkid talents.

Then the third is Chido Obi-Martin, although he is yet to join the club, he is a possible world-beater up front and at just 16, United have fought off half of the continent to secure his signature.

A central defender, central midfielder and a striker – the spine of a football team and all three wonderkids which could mean in five years United have a ready-made cornerstone of the team.

This is without even mentioning Kobbie Mainoo and other wonderkids on the books already, which only heightens the excitement over the dynasty that Ineos is building.

Where will Sekou Kone fit into Travis Binnion’s side?

Despite being a highly rated prospect, Kone is unlikely to be in Erik ten Hag’s squad at least initially – which means it will likely be U21 football for the Mali youngster.

In this, we imagine he will be a regular fixture as he adapts to living in England and it will be a huge change culturally for such a young man.

The midfield options are pretty strong in Travis Binnion’s side with Toby Collyer expected to drop down occasionally, while Jayce Fitzgerald and Jack Fletcher are also likely to play starring roles this season.

Kone is a very exciting prospect who we are keen to see in action along with the rest of the talents in the squad right now – we also imagine he will be knocking on the first team door in no time if he is as good as touted.
