Former Manchester United academy star Charlie Wellens enjoyed attending the World Darts Championship, but he couldn’t help but take a moment to laugh at Pep Guardiola at the Ally Pally.
The World Darts Championship is heating up as we approach the latter rounds. It’s that time of the year when people either attend the event, go out or enjoy it in the comfort of their homes.
A night at the darts gives people the chance to let off some steam, relax a bit and behave like giddy children whenever they hear ‘180’ shouted from the mic.
Manchester United fan Luke Littler reached the World Darts Championship final last year and became the tournament’s teenage sensation, despite losing to Leeds-supporting Luke Humphries.
A good run at the World Darts Championship would help raise spirits for Littler, who has had to endure poor performances from his side who sit 14th in the Premier League.

Charlie Wellens sends hilarious message to Pep Guardiola
Wigan Athletic U21s star Charlie Wellens, who left United’s academy in 2023, took some time out over the Christmas period to get amongst the fun at this year’s World Darts Championship.
More footballers are expected to be spotted as we reach the finals of the competition.
Few will make an appearance quite like Wellens, though.
Proud of his United roots, Wellens wrote a message on a paper card for Guardiola to joke about City’s current form.
Wellens held a placard which read: ‘Pep’s lost his head!’

United fans will love this message from Wellens, even though the Reds are currently sat 14th in the Premier League.
Hopefully, the new year brings United better luck in terms of results and performances.
Luke Littler warned about ‘Manchester United syndrome’
Darts legend Phil Taylor believes Litler has the best chance of surpassing the current record for world titles.
Taylor, who has 16 world titles under his belt, told talkSPORT: “Luke’s emergence has been absolutely brilliant. I love the way he walks up there. He isn’t interested in money.
“He’s interested in titles. He’s interested in enjoying himself. If he doesn’t win, he isn’t a sulker.
“He doesn’t throw his toys out of the cot. He just gets on with it and the next one.
“What Luke has to be careful of is: ‘Don’t be complacent.’
“I used to call it the ‘Manchester United syndrome’. Because United never got an easy game.
“I never got an easy game as everybody tried their best against me.”
United have lost that ruthlessness to win at all costs in recent years, without Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm, but Littler will hope to take Taylor’s words of encouragement with him into the latter rounds of this year’s World Darts Championship.
