Manchester United players are in high spirits after the club’s biggest Premier League victory of the season.
A memorable afternoon at Old Trafford saw Manchester United defeat Everton 4-0, thanks to two goals from Marcus Rashford and two from Joshua Zirkzee.
Amad provided two assists, after a pair of assists from captain Bruno Fernandes. It was the club’s first Premier League win under Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has now won two games as head coach and drawn one. A big test awaits against Arsenal in midweek.
Mainoo and Amad messages
Manchester United’s players have been posting on social media following the win, expressing their happiness with the result.
Among them was Amad, who now has four assists in his last four matches for Manchester United.
Amad posted: “We keep going 💪🏾Thanks fans for the support,” while teammate Joshua Zirkzee responded, “Che giocatore fra,” translated to “What a player bro”.
Teammate Kobbie Mainoo also had a message he wanted to share after making his return to action after missing most of the past two months through injury.
Mainoo wrote simply: “No place like home,” referring to his return to playing at Old Trafford, his first game at the stadium since the defeat to Tottenham.
Mainoo faces suspension
There were two negatives from Manchester United’s victory, Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez both face suspensions.
The duo were both one yellow card away from triggering an automatic one-game ban. Both players picked up bookings in the second half against the Toffees.
At least Mainoo will get a rest in midweek, following his return from injury, but United would much rather he was available.
United are six points behind second placed Arsenal, having moved up to ninth in the table with the win over Everton.
