United have struggled for goals under Amorim so far and with Marcus Rashford cast out of the squad, a striker is very much on the shopping list.
Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has been linked to United in a move that would reunite him with Amorim, while Victor Osimhen is also on United’s radar.
Man United scouts spotted watching Porto
Ahead of the January window, Amorim urged United to scout Portugal with a brand new team that could capitalise on the exciting wave of talent coming through in his homeland.
It seems the Red Devils have listened to his request with O Jogo reporting that United scouts were in attendance to watch Porto on Saturday afternoon.
Porto beat Boavista 4-0 in Liga Portugal and United scouts watched the match alongside talent-spotters from Manchester City and Barcelona.
The report does not specify who United scouts were watching, but the Red Devils have been linked to two Porto players already this season.
United have shown interest in Francisco Moura but the 25-year-old left-back was out injured for Saturday’s clash.
Man United interest in Samu Aghehowa
The name Samu Aghehowa should be familiar to United fans after he scored twice against the Red Devils in the 3-3 Europa League draw back in October.
Reports at the start of December claimed United scouts were watching Samu at Porto ahead of a potential move for the 20-year-old in January.

They would have liked what they saw from Samu on Saturday after he scored twice in the 4-0 win over Boavista.
His brace has taken his goal tally for the season up to 18 goals in 21 appearances – an incredible record for the young forward.
