A Manchester United signing under Erik ten Hag has seen his agent speak out about the “concrete interest” in the player after Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford came to an end in late October after the former Manchester United manager was dismissed by the Red Devils.
The 54-year-old former Ajax boss had overseen a disastrous start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, despite being retained by Ineos in the summer.
Ten Hag, who inked a contract extension with United in the summer, was axed and Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of the Red Devils as interim manager.
Ruud van Nistelrooy had been assistant manager to Ten Hag and the United legend served four matches as interim manager before his departure from Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim left Sporting CP in November after United triggered his £9.25m release clause and the 39-year-old Portuguese inked a deal until June 2027.
Man Utd star’s agent on player’s future
Antony has been under heavy criticism during his Manchester United career after his big-money move to Old Trafford in 2022.
The 24-year-old Brazilian winger played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax and Antony was reunited with the Dutchman at Old Trafford after his £82m transfer.
However, Antony has struggled to replicate his Ajax form at the Red Devils and the Brazil international has been left fighting for first-team opportunities at the club.
The former Ajax star has played under Ruben Amorim and even adapted to a wing-back role under the United manager’s tactical system.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Antony’s agent has spoken out about the United player and admitted that they have received transfer interest regarding a January move.
“Many clubs have approached us for Antony’s move in January,” Junior Pedroso told the publication.
“These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest.”
Antony’s agent on Man Utd’s transfer stance
Antony has only managed 11 appearances across all competitions for United in the 2024-25 campaign and the Brazilian attacker has only netted once.
The Brazil winger has made all five of his Premier League appearances this season from the bench, failing to score or pick up a single assist for United in the league.
Junior Pedroso has insisted that United have not informed them of their decision to either sell or loan out Antony amid the rumblings around the player’s future.
“To be fair, Manchester United have never expressed any interest to sell or loan out Antony to us,” he added.
“We never received this sort of communication so far. Man United management never told us that they want Antony to leave, despite the reports we see around about our client.”
