Marcus Rashford training plans as Man Utd forward set for Carrington return after illness

Marcus Rashford was once again absent from the Manchester United squad that travelled to Anfield last weekend.

The Manchester United forward can’t stay out of the headlines at the moment due to uncertainty surrounding his future.

In an interview with Henry Winter last month, Marcus Rashford revealed he is ready for a new challenge, even though one is staring him in the face at Old Trafford.

However, Rashford has yet to work his way into Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Rashford has not played in the last five matches but featured on the bench for United’s 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Amorim explained ahead of the Liverpool match that Rashford would not be part of the travelling squad due to illness.

It remains to be seen if Rashford will be available when United take on Arsenal in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford set for Carrington return

With Rashford missing previous matches, Amorim has had a chance to get a closer look at his other attacking options.

Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojund have been starting, while Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee have been named among the substitutes.

United are preparing to face Arsenal at the Emirates and they will be looking for their first win in six matches.

It is understood that the mood in the camp was update at training on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, Rashford was absent from today’s training session.

Rashford is expected to train alone later as he steps up his recovery after missing group training for most of the week.

It is understood that Rashford is attracting interest from AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

Ruben Amorim shows hands-on approach in Manchester United training

Amorim has already warned his United players that he will not be changing his ways to suit personnel in the squad. They must take his preferred system on board or be prepared to sink.

It feels like Ineos are repeating their Jadon Sancho trick with Rashford as they take the side of United’s head coach.

The report by Sky Sports outlined an observation and credited Amorim for his hands-on approach to training.

Amorim was seen deep in thought as he set up his own training mannequins, which the report states is “not something you often see done by a Premier League manager”.

It’s worth pointing out that Amorim turns 40 later this month and is a younger than most Premier League managers, but it also shows how keen he is to introduce his standards at the club.
