3-4-2-1: Man Utd predicted XI vs Everton, two players return for Amorim - Opinion

Manchester United will look to end a Premier League losing streak on Saturday against Everton.

Ruben Amorim will be hoping that his side can repeat December’s heroic 4-0 win over Everton this Sunday on a visit to Goodison Park.

Manchester United’s devastatingly poor form domestically has left the club on the verge of the worst Premier League finish in history.

Amorim has not had his struggles made easier by the injury crisis that the club are currently in the midst of – which led to seven United academy graduates being named in the squad against Spurs.

However, United are set to welcome three players back, although Amorim did give a negative update on six names who will not be fit for the Merseyside trip.

The fixture will see the Red Devils up against former United manager David Moyes. In the build-up, Amorim has praised Moyes but will be hoping that the Scot gets it wrong on Saturday.

How Manchester United will line-up against Everton

Amorim confirmed on Friday that United would welcome back Christian Eriksen, Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte into the fold which is a welcome boost to the stretched squad which sits 15th in the league.

This should mean there are fewer academy players on the bench, but we would predict that four will remain – however, won’t be in contention to start.

Chido Obi will hope for a second senior United appearance, but here is how we think Amorim’s lineup will look.

Andre Onana

Starting in goal, Altay Bayindir’s United return is close – but Andre Onana is the starter for the league anyway.

Leny Yoro

After illness ruled him out last week, we fully expect Yoro to start this one in place of Noussair Mazraoui.

Harry Maguire

In recent months, Harry Maguire’s importance has increased ten-fold and in the central centre-back role he should start again here.

Matthijs de Ligt

With the left-sided centre-back role vacant due to Lisandro Martinez tearing his cruciate ligament, it seems Amorim likes the idea of Matthijs de Ligt in this role.

Diogo Dalot

Diogo Dalot is one of Amorim’s undroppable players and so we imagine he is nailed on to occupy the right wing-back role at least for the rest of this season.

Manuel Ugarte

In the midfield, Ugarte should return from his minor injury to start – but we would like to see Sekou Kone handed his debut for United off the bench as opposed to a Casemiro cameo.

Bruno Fernandes

Partnering Ugarte is Bruno Fernandes. Last weekend, Amorim asked too much of Bruno as he had to overcompensate for Casemiro next to him, but here he can play his usual game.

Patrick Dorgu

January addition Patrick Dorgu was positive last week and so he should be in line for another start in his favoured role on Saturday.

Joshua Zirkzee

In the attacking roles is where things get difficult for Amorim, and through a lack of options, it will likely be Joshua Zirkzee who starts in the right number 10 role.

Alejandro Garnacho

On the left, Alejandro Garnacho is a must-start through necessity in being the only direct attacker who asks questions of the defence – although he desperately needs to improve his finishing.

Rasmus Hojlund

Up front Amorim could be bold and start Obi, but this is heavily unlikely and instead, Rasmus Hojlund will likely start again.
