Five things to watch out for when Manchester United take on Everton, Joshua Zirkzee looks to haunt Toffees again

Manchester United are looking to end a dismal 2-match losing run in the Premier League when they travel to Everton on Saturday.

The trip to Goodison Park will see Manchester United take on Everton in a bottom-of-the-table clash, but the Toffees have experienced a resurgence since they rehired David Moyes to replace Sean Dyche.

Unfortunately for United, there has not been a new manager bounce for Ruben Amorim, who has an incredibly difficult job on his hands to make something of this season after taking the reins in November.

However, in Amorim’s first Premier League home game in charge, United thrashed Everton 4-0.

The United head coach will be hoping for a similar result this weekend.

Everton vs Manchester United: Head-to-head

Everton go into the game after losing their last five Premier League games against United, failing to score in the last four.

The last time the Toffees managed that feat was between 1957 and 1960 against Wolves.

They will be looking to avoid making it six this on Saturday.

David Moyes resurgence

Former United manager Moyes has enjoyed the start of his second stint in charge of Everton after taking them away from the relegation zone.

Everton have recorded four victories and a draw in their last five matches, which shows that they are performing a lot better than when United last played them under Dyche.

Moyes will be looking to get one over his former club on Saturday, especially after leapfrogging United in the Premier League standings. He has beaten United seven times in 39 matches as a manager.

Problems in front of goal for United and Everton

United still lack a natural goalscorer and Amad Diallo’s injury blow couldn’t come at a worse time.

The Reds have failed to score in 10 different Premier League games this season, with only Everton topping that with 12.

It’s United’s worst tally for failing to score in Premier League games, and it was only matched in 2004-05 and 2015-16.

Joshua Zirkzee ready to haunt Everton again

On the topic of goalscorers, we already know Joshua Zirkzee isn’t one, but that didn’t stop him from scoring a brace against Everton when he last faced the Merseyside outfit.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Zirkzee saw United hammer Everton 4-0 at the start of December.

Zirkzee will be eager to add to his tally for the season too.

A lot has changed since then, but United fans are still waiting on their forwards to start firing.

Rasmus Hojlund to end goal drought

It’s been a difficult season for Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dane has gone 15 games without a goal, which is a record that needs to change for the better before it’s too late.

Questions have been asked of Hojlund this season; however, as a younger striker, patience is required with his development.

United need him at his best against Everton. That way, the goal drought will be put to an end.
