Manchester United may look to land another left-wing back this summer despite only signing Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu in January.
Ruben Amorim became Manchester United boss in November and brought his 3-4-2-1 system from Sporting with him.
That meant United switched to playing with wing-backs, something Amorim’s squad wasn’t exactly set up for upon his arrival.
United snapped up Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu from Lecce, adding a natural left wing-back option to Amorim’s squad.
Dorgu has shown some potential, but Amorim may need other options in that left wing-back spot.
Harry Amass is still learning, and Luke Shaw appears to be viewed as a left-sided centre-back under Amorim, so another signing would not be a surprise.

Manchester United interested in Botafogo’s Cuiabano
Many United fans would love to see Alvaro Fernandez return to Old Trafford.
Fernandez is set to join Real Madrid, just a year since United allowed him to join Benfica on a permanent basis.
United may instead look towards Brazil – despite having a buy-back clause on Fernandez.
Brazilian outlet Trivela claim that United are interested in signing Botafogo left-back Cuiabano.
It’s suggested that United have contacted Botafogo as well as Cuiabano’s representatives, gauging interest in a potential summer move.
Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on Cuiabano, who is playing ‘practically as a winger’ for Botafogo.
That attacking mentality may make Cuiabano well-suited to the wing-back role under Amorim, but United will face a battle.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently reported that Brighton and Hove Albion have failed with a bid to sign Cuiabano.
The Seagulls only offered €7million (£6million), whilst Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce saw an €8million (£6.7million) offer snubbed in January.
United will have to go higher than those offers to land Cuiabano, but the 22-year-old is a name to keep close tabs on for the summer.
Cuiabano happy at Botafogo
A move to the Premier League would surely appeal to Cuiabano, especially with the prospect of a big switch to United.
For now, though, the former Grêmio talent is just enjoying his rise to prominence at Botafogo.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Cuiabano admitted being ‘very happy’ to have joined such a ‘family’ at Botafogo.
Cuiabano loves the fans and the environment around the club, believing that Botafogo is ‘home’ to him right now.
“Since I arrived, I have identified a lot with the fans,” said Cuiabano.
“Because whether you like it or not, as the saying goes, ‘it’s different’. Being at Botafogo is different, the fans and the atmosphere are different. The environment is different. It’s family. I will always say that I am at home. I am very happy,” he added.
That stance may well change if United come calling, but Cuiabano seemingly won’t be disappointed if he stays with the Brazilian club for a little while longer.
