Manchester United fans wasted no time instantly sharing their two cents on Kobbie Mainoo’s display against Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The Red Devils kicked off their 2025-26 Carabao Cup campaign on Wednesday evening, with Grimsby Town hosting Manchester United at Blundell Park.
Ruben Amorim finally made the decision to thrust Kobbie Mainoo back into the starting XI after the 20-year-old United midfielder’s future was plunged into doubt.
Mainoo has been out of the starting XI for United’s Premier League defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford and the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
United manager Ruben Amorim had the England midfielder on the bench for the two aforementioned matches, but Mainoo was an unused substitute on both occasions.
Mainoo has been subject to intense speculation over his time at United after being snubbed by Amorim, but the England star finally had his chance against Grimsby.
