Manchester United are taking an interest in Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
United In Focus revealed Manchester United are monitoring the progress of Bournemouth sensation Alex Scott.
Scott has just been called up into the England squad for the first time in his career, a reward for his impressive Premier League form.
The 22-year-old has played in every game for Bournemouth so far this season, with Andoni Iraola’s side level on points with Manchester United, with 18.
But did you know, Scott actually played in the same team as Manchester United and England women’s star Maya Le Tissier?

Scott and Le Tissier’s connection
Alex Scott and Maya Le Tissier have a special connection, as they both hail from the island of Guernsey.
The two even played for the same team, with Maya Le Tissier joining the boy’s team at local side St Martin’s.
Scott played up a year, and later told the FA: “I got to play in the same team as England Women international Maya Le Tissier.
“She’s flying at the moment with England and Manchester United and is poised for a great career in the women’s game, so I’m proud of her for what she’s achieved.”
Their bond is even closer, as Scott and Le Tissier are actually step-siblings.
“I was playing with my closest friends, my brother and Maya, and we had a really good team. As an under-16 team, we won every trophy going.”
Maya Le Tissier signed for Manchester United Women’s team in 2022, joining from Brighton.
She has gone onto play for England’s Lionesses, and became United’s youngest ever scorer in the Women’s Champions League earlier this season.
Le Tissier was voted the Women’s Player’s Player of the Year in 2023/24 as a joint winner along with Ella Toone.
She was even lauded by Sir Alex Ferguson for an impressive consecutive game streak.
Scott is immensely proud of what his former teammate has achieved, commenting: “With Maya being a girl, she is a massive inspiration to so many young girls back home in Guernsey who thought there was no opportunity for them.
“She’s demonstrating that if you have the quality and the hunger, like she does, then there’s definitely a chance for you.”
Who is your dream Manchester United signing in 2026?
Connection could be swaying factor in Man Utd move
At this early stage Manchester United are just monitoring the impressive progress of Alex Scott, who is on an upwards trajectory for Bournemouth at England.
Midfield is the big area where Manchester United are desperate to strengthen mid-season and in the summer.
Scott could be part of the solution, if a financial agreement can be reached with Bournemouth.
And when it comes to attracting the freshly capped England call-up, United have a unique advantage thanks to the Maya Le Tissier connection.
It is unlikely to be a move Scott would turn down. It just depends how badly United want him.
