Manchester United signing Bryan Mbeumo has stepped up in a season where Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah is falling short.
The summer transfer window was focused on Manchester United overhauling their attacking options, with Ineos making sweeping changes to the squad.
Matheus Cunha was the first to arrive, followed by a £65 million deal for Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Mbeumo scored against Tottenham on the weekend, extending his lead as United’s top scorer this season with six goals across all competitions.
Mbeumo was named Player of the Month for October, and the 26-year-old continued his red-hot form into November. He is already becoming a club talisman.

Bryan Mbeumo compared to Mohamed Salah
Before he made his move to Manchester, Mbeumo was compared to Mohamed Salah by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
Carragher wanted Bryan Mbeumo at Liverpool, but the Cameroon forward described his move to Old Trafford as a “dream”.
After the 2-2 draw with Tottenham, former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves told TNT Sports that he also sees the comparisons between Mbeumo and Salah.
Who was the Man Utd MOTM vs Tottenham?
“I think his biggest attribute is that he gives quality. He reminds me of Mohamed Salah in and around the box. When he gets it, he has a clear picture of exactly what he wants,” Hargreaves said.
“Whether the finish is near post or back post, he almost shows no emotion. It’s just business in and around the box, and I love that.
“You can play it into his feet, he can dribble. [Peter] Crouch mentioned his touch and how sharp he is. Technically, I don’t think he gets enough credit.
“People talk about his goal-scoring and rightly so, but he is an exceptional football player. He stands there really chill. People have come to United with huge names and struggled with the pressure.”
Bryan Mbeumo is outperforming Mohamed Salah
While Mbeumo is thriving at United, Salah is struggling at Liverpool and is behind in the scoring charts.
Mbeumo has now scored six across all competitions, including five in the Premier League. Only five players in the league have scored more than United’s summer signing. Salah sits further down the rankings with four league goals this season.
It includes Mbeumo scoring against Liverpool at Anfield as United broke a nine-year run of miserable results on Merseyside.
Mbeumo tore Liverpool’s defence apart, while Salah failed to break through United’s back line at Anfield.
He has a long way to go in terms of matching Salah’s goals and trophies record, but Ineos will be feeling more and more confident that they’ve brought a superstar to Old Trafford.
