Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has survived the toughest start to the Premier League of any manager, but now a new test is on the horizon.
Statistically, Manchester United faced the toughest opening Premier League fixtures of any top-flight side in 2025/26.
Now 11 games into the campaign, the Red Devils have navigated their difficult start well, meaning Ruben Amorim’s side is still in the mix for a top-four finish.

Missing out on European qualification last season did come with one silver lining – United can focus solely on their league position in 2025/26.
But the advantage of only playing once a week is about to be wiped out as the Premier League enters its winter schedule.

Man United face eight games in 36 days
The fixture list has not been kind to United early on, but the time between games has helped Amorim prepare his players well.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave Ruben Amorim his support
However, the fixtures are set to ramp up after the November international break, with United scheduled to play eight league matches in 36 days between November 24th and the end of the year.
It means Amorim’s side will be playing, on average, every 4.5 days instead of weekly.

After back-to-back away games against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, United will finally return to Old Trafford to face Everton after the break. Out of the eight remaining games this calendar year, five will be played at the Theatre of Dreams.
The winter schedule also includes the only league match on Boxing Day as Newcastle travel to Old Trafford. Just four days later, Wolves make the journey to Manchester.
Ruben Amorim has managed injuries and energy levels well
When Liverpool wanted Amorim in 2024, they acknowledged that he ranked at the top of their metrics in terms of keeping players fit.
United have had their fair share of injury crises over the past few years, but Amorim does appear to be managing the squad well in terms of their fitness and energy levels.
In the recent unbeaten run, United have been outrunning opponents on a regular basis. Amorim demanded more intensity and physicality from his players, and they are responding.

But against Tottenham, Benjamin Sesko suffered a knee injury, while Casemiro and Harry Maguire also picked up knocks.
Hopefully, all three players can recover over the November break and return to Carrington ready to tackle what is a challenging fixture list on the horizon.
