With just nine games left this Premier League season, unbelievably, Tottenham are firmly in the relegation dog-fight. So if they go down, Manchester United could benefit from a sure exodus.
When Spurs beat Manchester United in the Europa League final last May, it was supposed to be a turning point for the clubs, with the winners getting back to their best.
However, one year on and while United are fighting for Champions League football, Spurs are a point from relegation and undoubtedly the worst of the four sides in the battle to stay up.
They might yet survive, but if Tottenham get relegated this season, then United should absolutely be looking to sign some slashed-price players amid the guaranteed exodus.

Lucas Bergvall
Top of the list of players Spurs will surely lose is Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who was considered one of the finest young midfielders in the Premier League until this season.
Bergvall was on trial at United back in 2022 when he was only 16, only for the Red Devils to miss out regretfully.
If interested, United will know of Bergvall’s £57m asking price, which is sure to be cut down if they are sent to the Championship, as he will likely seek a move to a bigger club, one in the top division.
United needs a couple of midfielders this summer, and Bergvall as a squad depth signing would be excellent.
Archie Gray
Similar to Bergvall, United should be looking at 19-year-old Archie Gray, who is far too talented to be staying at Tottenham long-term.
Gray and Bergvall would be similar additions, reinforcing the midfield but not necessarily starting straight away, but offer depth and potentially a future top player.
Gray is versatile as well, capable at full-back, along with midfield. While a Leeds youngster, that bridge has been crossed before, and United could be where he manages to start making strides toward his potential.
However, it should be Gray or Bergvall, not both.
Mikey Moore
Another young talent that should be considered by United is Mikey Moore, currently on loan at Rangers after his impressive breakout season last term.
Moore has struggled in Glasgow, but that shouldn’t be off-putting, considering Amad also had similar issues before becoming the player he is today.
The 18-year-old could be a great depth option for United, and also a potentially shrewd investment to sign and loan, maybe to Nice, before selling at a profit.
There was interest in Moore before he committed to Spurs previously, but now he will return to a club far changed from the one he thought he was at, and potentially a division lower.
Djed Spence
Left-back has been a problem area for United, and therefore, signing Djed Spence for cheap in the event of relegation would be a smart signing.
Spence is an English international and very capable as a full-back in modern football, with the only question marks being around his performances this season.
Spence would be an upgrade on Luke Shaw, while so would Destiny Udogie, as United should sign either.
Luca Williams-Barnett
The final name on our list is one that Spurs are unlikely to even consider, given he would probably play a key role in the Championship, but Luca Williams-Barnett would be a great signing.
The 17-year-old is already a first-team debutant and one of the most exciting players in the league for his age, with silky skills and goals in abundance.
The left-winger could give United a young option in the number 10 role, while JJ Gabriel develops in the academy, and for whatever Spurs demand, he looks to be a good investment.
It would take a lot to get him out, but such a talented youngster will surely have higher ambitions than being part of this terrible Spurs side.
