Ayden Heaven’s first-time milestone at Old Trafford was only mirrored by another Man Utd player this summer

Ayden Heaven has signed off from Manchester United’s 2026 pre-season tour by reaching a feat that he had not previously achieved at Old Trafford so far.

The 19-year-old Manchester United defender arrived at the Premier League club during Ruben Amorim’s reign after he was signed from Arsenal in 2024.

Ayden Heaven crossed paths with former United manager Ruben Amorim in the Red Devils’ final pre-season match under Michael Carrick on Saturday evening.

Michael Carrick’s men visited Poland and Red Devils talent Heaven started in United’s 4-2 friendly defeat to Serie A side AC Milan at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw.

Ayden Heaven played in all six Man Utd matches during the pre-season campaign under Michael Carrick

Ayden Heaven saw out the opening 45 minutes of Manchester United’s encounter with AC Milan before the former Arsenal defender made way after half-time.

The United centre-back’s appearance at the weekend meant that Heaven featured in all six pre-season matches of the Red Devils’ summer tour under Michael Carrick.

Heaven was in the starting XI on five occasions and could now be tipped for a breakout season at Old Trafford in the 2026-27 Premier League season.

Ayden Heaven’s 2026 pre-season with Man Utd:

The former Gunners talent missed out on the 2025 pre-season tour under Ruben Amorim after he was focused on a recovery programme for an injury that he had.

However, Heaven was able to play 281 minutes this summer compared with his zero minutes from the 2025 tour and earned valuable United first-team experience.

Only Bryan Mbeumo matched Ayden Heaven for the most appearances on Man Utd’s 2026 summer tour

Bryan Mbeumo climbed off the bench against AC Milan on Saturday to make it six in six appearances for the Red Devils during this summer’s pre-season campaign.

The 27-year-old Cameroon international is the only other Man Utd player outside of Heaven to have played in every single match of the 2026 tour under Carrick.

Ayden Heaven’s pre-season stats for Man Utd ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season:

Both Heaven and Bryan Mbeumo were equal for the same number of starts for Man Utd over the course of the six matches from the Red Devils’ pre-season schedule.

Harry Maguire was only one appearance shy of matching Mbeumo and Heaven after he missed Man Utd’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United because Carrick rested him.
