Manchester United beat Leeds in their fifth pre-season game on penalties, so here are Man Utd vs Leeds player ratings.
A fast start by Leeds was repelled by Man Utd’s brilliant structure, before a sucker punch by Bryan Mbeumo for Joshua Zirkzee gave Michael Carrick’s men the lead.
Tyler Fletcher was caught on the ball in response, with former Red Devil Dan James assisting Leeds’ equaliser in the first half.
A stop-start second half full of subs didn’t result in any more goals. Man Utd won in the penalty shootout.

Senne Lammens – 7
Some good touches on the ball. Helpless for the equaliser.
Diogo Dalot – 6.5
Tested Trafford from range. Outlet in the build-up.
Leny Yoro – 6
Downgrade on Harry Maguire from the game against PSG. Looks troubled against pacey attackers.
Ayden Heaven – 7
Better of the CB duo again. Calm and confident passing combined with aggressive tackling.
Harry Amass – 5
Looked too desperate to impress which resulted in rash play. Would have easily been booked twice if this were a competitive game.
Tyler Fletcher – 4
Circulated possession with safe passes well until he was caught on the ball for the equaliser. Senior football seems to surprise him with the pace.
Andrey Santos – 8
Continued his prolific form, this time alongside a young partner who needed to be led.
Amad – 9
Looks in supreme confidence on and off the ball. Wants to beat his man off the dribble. Electric display.
Patrick Dorgu – 6.5
Clumsy on the ball, good off it. United need more from the left-winger in the attacking areas.
Joshua Zirkzee – 7.5
Took his goal well. Tested Trafford on multiple occasions.
Bryan Mbeumo – 8.5
Electric on and off the ball. Assisted Zirkzee brilliantly and struck a thunderous shot at the crossbar.
Substitutes
Toby Collyer – 6
Kept things ticking with safe passes. Absent in build-up otherwise.
Tynan Thompson – 7
Tried to make things happen. Doesn’t lack confidence. Exciting debut.
Dan Armer – 7.5
Dealt with the threat of Calvert-Lewin surprisingly well. Looks unfazed with the senior team.
Bruno Fernandes – 8
A pure crowd favourite. Had the ball in the net for a goal ruled out for offside. Struck the post.
Luke Shaw – 7
Good progressive play. Kept his flank secure.
Youri Tielemans – 7.5
His footballing IQ is off the charts. Plays a second quicker than everyone else. Great addition.
Noussair Mazraoui – 6.5
Overlapped on the odd occasion but struggled with Jack Fletcher ahead of him.
Matheus Cunha – 6
Very rusty as all of his dribbles were stopped with minimal fuss. Still tried to make stuff happen.
Jack Fletcher – 5
Misplaced a pass as soon as he came on. Largely absent in the build-up and the final third.
Dermot Mee – 7.5
Made a great save in the second half. Commanded his area well. Saved a penalty.
