After JJ Gabriel joined a new agent, his exit from Manchester United is as close as ever, with the destination yet to be determined, while Ineos hasn’t quite given up hope of retaining the 15-year-old. Barcelona have denied interest, which throws a spanner in the works unless that is a bluff.
It will be a blow to the academy, considering how talented he is. But with Jaice Dore undergoing his own emergence for United right now, it may end up feeling far less of a hit. Over the weekend, Dore played in the Craig Brown Memorial Cup, which United went on to win, and in the final, Dore had a showstopping moment for his goal.
Dore picked up the ball on the wing from a throw before turning his man, dribbling past two more defenders as he drove into the box, before then just leathering the ball into the top corner from a tight angle.
This goal saw Dore put all of his very best qualities together in superb fashion to score a goal that has left supporters raving on social media. But this is just a taster of what he is capable of.
Dore is seen as the next Gabriel in terms of his talent and style of play, while he has also been secured by Nike at a young age, which is another indication of just how generational he could be.
While still playing U16 football, with United likely to avoid pushing him too soon after the way that went with Gabriel, Dore will absolutely be in U18 action over the course of this season at some point. It is just a matter of time.
Dore is one of United’s very best talents right now, and to see him continuing to develop and evolve as a talent is a joy. Now, the next step for him will be taking that leap into U18 football, which his performances suggest is very possible.
