Confirmed Manchester United XI v Burnley

Manchester United return to action tonight after the World Cup break, and the line-up has been announced.

Here is a look at the team Erik ten Hag has selected to face Burnley…

Starting XI: Dubravka, Malacia, Lindelof, McTominay, Wan-Bissaka, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford, Fernandes

Substitutes: De Gea, Bennett, Shaw, Elanga, Williams, Fred, Van de Beek, Pellistri

The Carabao Cup fourth round match kicks off at Old Trafford at 8pm.

A winner has to be decided on the night, meaning we could see extra-time and penalties.

United beat Aston Villa 4-2 in the third round, and Erik ten Hag’s team selection shows he is taking the competition seriously.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have already been eliminated, while City face Liverpool tomorrow night, meaning only one can progress.

Speaking to the club website ahead of the game, Ten Hag said: “I am happy with the state of play as we resume the campaign tonight, but I am well aware – as we all are – that we are not restarting with a straightforward game.

“Burnley are on top of the Championship, which is a difficult league to contest, plus they have been back in competitive action for a couple of weeks already.

“We want to do well in the Carabao Cup this season and, although we are in different divisions, there is no question that we will have to be straight back into our best form tonight if we are to progress.”
