Manchester United’s second winter friendly in Spain ended in a 1-0 loss to Real Betis after the Red Devils conceded an early second half goal.
Here is a look at our player ratings from the friendly…
David de Gea: Solid. Gave United an assurance which was lacking when he sat out Wednesday’s game – 7
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Big improvement on his Cadiz performance, made some nice touches at both ends – 8
Teden Mengi: Nightmare as he went down injured after just 15 minutes and had to be stretchered off in distress. – N/A
Victor Lindelof: Much better confident striding out with the ball, won some important headers and made a key interception late on – 8
Brandon Williams: Great early clearance off the line. Struggled to contain Betis’ winger – 6
Scott McTominay: Did the dirty work in midfield to ensure United kept shape, and shielded the defence – 7
Isak Hansen-Aaroen: Not everything he tried came off but he looked like he belonged, showed some lovely touches – 6
Zidane Iqbal: Kept possession well and was tidy – just found it a little tougher to make an impact against better opposition – 6
Anthony Elanga: Fairly anonymous again, Elanga’s form is a real concern, he has disappointed in both games – 5
Alejandro Garnacho: Often looked to create a threat but could not find a way through. Always asking questions of the defence – 6
Anthony Martial: Came close with an effort from the edge of the box at the end of the first half. United didn’t give him the right service – 6
Substitutes:
Rhys Bennett: Coped really well after being thrown into the deep end after 15 minutes. Always positioned well and made the right decisions with his passing – 8
Tom Heaton: Conceded minutes after replacing David de Gea. Bounced back with a handful of really good saves – 7
Sam Murray: Goal came down his side but he recovered well later in the game and closed down the opposition sharply – 6
Kobbie Mainoo: Lacked the impact of his previous performance but held his own in midfield – 6
Shola Shoretire: Had to do more defensive work than he would have wanted, no time on the ball in attack – 5
Joe Hugill: Like McNeill in the previous game he was starved of service and didn’t get a shot at goal – 5
Noam Emeran: Came to life when he got the ball in the box but struggled to make an impact – 5
Charlie Savage: Played just the final 10 minutes – N/A
Marc Jurado: Played just the final 10 minutes – N/A
