4-3-3: Predicted Manchester United XI v City, Casemiro and Shaw to start

Manchester United host Manchester City on Saturday in an early kick-off which could get our weekends off to a great start.

Erik ten Hag‘s United are on a winning streak, while City are a little out of sorts, losing in the Carabao Cup to Southampton in midweek.

United have not conceded a Premier League goal at Old Trafford since the win over Arsenal in September. City will certainly put this to the test.

A victory for United will move us just one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League table.

Predicted Manchester United line-up v Manchester City

Erik ten Hag already has a good idea of his best Manchester United line-up, but with fixtures coming at a relentless pace, he has had to mix it up in recent weeks.

The manager will come close to naming a full strength XI for the City fixture, making a number of changes to the side which started against Charlton in midweek and fielded 17-year-old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

David de Gea will return in goal with Tom Heaton dropping out, while at left-back, Luke Shaw will be back in the line-up at his favoured position.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane will be back together as United’s preferred centre-back pairing, for the first time since before the World Cup.

At right-back, a midweek injury to Diogo Dalot places Aaron Wan-Bissaka in line for a start at right-back.

In midfield Casemiro will face City in a United shirt for the first time, and there is some question over who will get the nod alongside him, Christian Eriksen or Fred.

Ultimately we expect Ten Hag to opt for Christian Eriksen‘s creativity, while Bruno Fernandes will return to the side after suspension.

Antony will keep his spot on the right wing, with in-form star Marcus Rashford on the left. After a midweek west, Anthony Martial will have to overcome a late fitness battle to lead the line.

New signing Wout Weghorst will not be on the bench, as he was not registered in time for the fixture.
