'Agreement in principle'... Manchester United attacker on verge of sealing contract to 2028

Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract at the club.

ESPN report Garnacho has reached an ‘agreement in principle’ to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

The proposed contract is a five-year which would take Garnacho up to summer 2028. His current deal runs to June 2025.

While there is no immediate risk of losing Garnacho, he is on a low salary signed when he was an under-18s player. Now he is a first team regular.

Garnacho close to new deal

Garnacho’s deal just now needs the final touches to be complete. ESPN report this means image rights details. The contract length and salary are all agreed, with wages undisclosed at this stage.

The report adds that an official announcement could be made in ‘the coming weeks’.

This is great news regarding a player who has stepped up as a first team star in recent weeks. The youngster has scored three five team goals and provided four assists.

Only 18, Garnacho has shown capable of making an instant impact and he has a chance to go on and become a top star for year to come.

He is still raw in his development, but appears to have a strong mentality and is focused on being a success at Old Trafford.

Garnacho is in a great place to progress under manager Erik ten Hag, who has an excellent track record of developing young player.

His imminent new contract is a safe bet for Garnacho, ensuring he has Ten Hag’s tutelage across the years ahead. If he continues to work hard and listen to his manager, he is a safe bet to have a successful career.
