'He is a United player'... Teammate backs hat-trick hero for Manchester United move

Denmark and Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund has been urged to sign for Manchester United this summer.

Rasmund Hojlund hit the headlines with an international hat-trick for Denmark against Finland this week, his first international goals.

The 20-year-old has netted seven times for Atalanta this season and could emerge as a budget strike option for the Red Devils this summer.

Now after his big performance, he has been tipped to join Manchester United by an international teammate.

Rasmus Hojlund tipped to join Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund netted all three goals in Denmark’s 3-1 victory over Scandinavian competitors Finland. It was a big way to announce himself on the international scene.

His performance was praised by Denmark teammate Philip Billing, who scored the winner for Bournemouth against Liverpool earlier this month.

Billing says he believes Rasmus Hojlund could be destined for a move to Old Trafford.

He was quoted by Tribal Football: “It was his night. He is a huge talent who can go really far if he continues to keep his feet on the ground.

“Manchester United… The way he plays, I can see him there from the summer.

“They also apparently lack a striker. He has enormous potential and I feel he is a United player.”

Manchester United are keen on Hojlund

Striker Hojlund is already on Manchester United’s radar, Danish outlet Tipsbladet reported back in February.

He has been compared to Erling Haaland by Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who told Football Italia recently: “He has very similar characteristics to Haaland, not just his face.

“He is so quick, he’s under 11 seconds over 100m and that’s not even trying very hard. Considering his height, he has a low centre of gravity and can move his legs very fast. I am convinced he’ll have a great career, he just gets stronger every day.”

Hojlund would be available for under £50 million, half the price of a Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen.

The prospect of linking up with Danish star Christian Eriksen would also appeal to the young striker, and this could be a sensible move for the Red Devils in the summer if the club’s scouts rate him highly enough.
