4-2-3-1: Predicted Manchester United XI vs Aston Villa, ten Hag has big decision to make

Manchester United look for revenge as they welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford with unlikely stakes on the line.

Following a second-half falter against Spurs, United will be desperate to get back in the win column. One thing that will give United confidence is their home form of late. Unbeaten at Old Trafford since September, with their last in the league being the opener against Brighton.

United find themselves in a position that a win against Villa could effectively wrap up the top four. With three points moving them nine points clear with a game in hand and just six games left.

Villa have had a resurgence this season since the arrival of Unai Emery and currently sit sixth. A win would take the Birmingham side to fifth and just three points behind United.

Villa beat United at Villa Park 3-1, and therefore the Red Devils will be eager to exact their revenge.

Predicted Manchester United line-up vs Aston Villa

The ever present David de Gea will start in goal, due primarily to a lack of options.

The defence however has been difficult to settle recently however it could be expected ten Hag will field the same back four as at Wembley.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right with Diogo Dalot remaining in his inverted left back role. In the centre, Victor Lindelof will start, with Luke Shaw’s impressive performances likely the catalyst to him earning a starting spot. Harry Maguire may have been relegated to the bench.

In midfield, Casemiro will play next to Christian Eriksen with the clubs un-official captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of them. These three allow United to play their best football.

United’s attacking options have been bolstered by Alejandro Garnacho‘s return to training. However this game likely comes too early for him.

United’s front three will likely see Jadon Sancho on the left following his goal against Spurs. With Antony on the right next to Marcus Rashford through the middle as he returned to goalscoring ways there on Thursday.
