Manchester United might have their very own Mohamed Salah in the shape of Bryan Mbeumo.
When Manchester United signed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a £65m deal last summer, comparisons to Mohamed Salah followed suit.
Mbeumo was compared to Salah by Owen Hargreaves shortly after his move to United, and Jamie Carragher once named Mbeumo as the ideal Salah replacement at Liverpool.
Thankfully, the 27-year-old chose to represent the Red Devils instead. With two goals already this season, Mbeumo is living up to the Salah comparisons.

There are plenty of easy positional and technical comparisons to draw between Mbeumo and Salah: Both play on the right wing. Left-footed. Dynamic and direct forwards who are keen to shoot.
Scoring against Everton was something that happened frequently in Salah’s career, with nine goals in 15 appearances against the Toffees.
Mbeumo scored a wonderful solo effort in United’s 2-2 draw with Everton in the Premier League, and there was so much about his performance that was comparable to a typical Salah showing.
Bryan Mbeumo inherits Salah’s inevitability, but also anonymity
Mbeumo enjoyed a scoring streak in pre-season, and he has carried that positive momentum into the start of the season with two wonderful goals against Ipswich and now Everton.
A record of 14 goals in 37 United appearances means Mbeumo isn’t too far off Salah’s scoring rate.
Even when Mbeumo is having a poor game, such as his first-half display against Everton, he has the rare ability to come to life and produce a moment of magic to find the back of the net.
In that sense, Mbeumo has the same air of inevitability that Salah used to have for Liverpool.
But while Salah’s goals came frequently, he also had a bad trait to go missing in games, and his overall play was often clunky or tough on the eye.

Because of Mbeumo’s glimpses of brilliance, United fans are often left wanting more from the Cameroon international in his general play. Once again, that was a frustration in his first-half performance against Everton.
As per FotMob, Mbeumo only accrued an xG (expected goals) of 0.05 against Everton. On one hand, it proves his finishing is outstanding. On the other, he is not finding himself on the end of enough high-quality chances. Mbeumo also only completed one of his three dribbles and had just four touches of the ball in Everton’s box.
