'Incredible step'... Manchester United midfielder praises £105m transfer target

Marcel Sabitzer has praised reported Manchester United transfer target Randal Kolo Muani.

It was French newspaper L’Équipe which first reported Manchester United’s interest in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.

But over the past month, it has been the German media leading the way on the potential transfer. Reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed via Twitter that United are ‘pushing the most’ to sign the forward.

Now in an interview with Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer, he has asked him his thoughts on Muani.

Marcel Sabitzer comments on Randal Kolo Muani

On loan star Marcel Sabitzer spoke positively about Muani, explaining that he can clearly see his qualities.

Sabitzer told Plettenberg: “I know him, he is a very good player. But I am not involved in transfer activities. I can only say what kind of player he is.

“He has made an incredible step this year. So it’s clear that many clubs are interested.”

German newspaper Bild, also reported by The Mail linked Manchester United with a £105 million move last month.

The price is excessive. Muani is only really worth around half that fee. He has had a great season, with 20 goals and 10 assists for his club, however, for that kind of money, you want to see more than one season’s production.

The previous season he scored 13 goals for Nantes, and 10 the year before that.

Sabitzer calls it accurately when he says Muani has made an ‘incredible step’, but is he capable of replicating this form next season, or making a similar step to Manchester United?

Harry Kane would be available for a similar price, and is a proven option. Muani is five years younger at 24, but a lot more risky.
