Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has broken his silence after last weekend’s FA Cup final defeat.
David de Gea has come in for heavy criticism since the final, with many feeling he should have stopped Ilkay Gundogan’s second half winner.
His tendency to pass the ball to the opposition was also seen as a contributing factor behind the defeat.
There was a scathing editorial in The Telegraph, which read: “David de Gea has cost Man Utd and the club must move on.”

David de Gea takes a break
David de Gea has kept a low profile since the loss and has kept off social media. Until now.
He has taken a holiday, now sharing a short video of him taking a dip in the sea, with the words, “Relax. Recharge. Contemplate.”
The matter of David de Gea’s contract remains officially unresolved. His current deal runs out at the end of this month.
He is expected to sign a new deal at United, with Talksport suggesting he could snub a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
At present, De Gea has plenty to contemplate. The Golden Glove winner will be feeling disappointment from the cup final, and has a decision to make.
United are expected to sign another goalkeeper regardless, and De Gea will have to assess whether he wants to risk staying and being a number two.
