'I love this club': Manchester United ace shares heartfelt stance amid Newcastle United interest

Scott McTominay has declared his love for Manchester United amid links with Everton and Newcastle United.

McTominay has been speaking to United’s official website having brought the curtain down on another season at Old Trafford.

The Scotland international only started 10 Premier League games and came off the bench in another 14.

It was a similar story in cup competitions, with McTominay usually more of a substitute than a starter under Erik ten Hag.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed becoming a star man for Scotland this year but he hasn’t been able to take on that role with United.

That hasn’t dampened McTominay’s spirits though and he has now shared his love for the Red Devils.

McTominay has admitted that he absolutely loves United and will train hard every single day whilst he is with the Red Devils.

McTominay claims to have enjoyed every minute of his first season under Ten Hag and wants to relax over the summer – despite questions about his future.

“When you’re on your holidays, you need to relax and take it easy, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’m someone who loves football and I love this club,” said McTominay.

“Whatever happens and however many minutes you play, I’m still going to train hard every single day and give my best for the team and always be there, contribute with some goals every now and again, maybe when you come on, but I feel like, for myself, it’s keep your head down and keep working,” he added.

Scott McTominay will be a wanted man this summer

McTominay’s goalscoring exploits for Scotland may well leave other clubs very interested.

Managers could see some potential in McTominay being a box-crashing midfielder rather than an anchor man as previously thought.

The Athletic claimed just a couple of days ago that Everton have now joined the race to sign McTominay this summer.

Everton may lose midfielder Amadou Onana and could see McTominay as a replacement in a box-to-box role.

ESPN claim that United’s asking price for McTominay is a hefty £40million, which is currently putting Newcastle United off.

West Ham United – seemingly ready to lose Declan Rice this summer – are also keen an ‘expected’ to make a move for McTominay.

That’s a lot of interest in McTominay, who will have plenty to think about this summer.

He clearly loves United, but how much is he going to play moving forward?

First-team minutes with Everton and West Ham would be easier to come by, which may be important at this stage in McTominay’s career.

Giving up on his United career won’t be easy though and these latest comments highlight that stance, leaving a summer exit up in the air.
