Bruno Fernandes praised
Bruno Fernandes’ staggering game time for club and country was raised as a concern by players’ union FIFPro. He has now played more than 6,600 minutes this season alone.
But he has ended it in red-hot form, now netting five goals in his last five appearances.
He was praised via Instagram, with former teammate Juan Mata and current ones Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga reaching out with praise.
Bruno Fernandes has one more game left before his 2022/23 season is finally over. Portugal host Iceland on Tuesday night in a Euro 2024 qualifier. They currently top their group with a 100 per cent record.
Manchester United teammate Diogo Dalot was an unused substitute, with Joao Cancelo preferred.
Fernandes was praised by Portugal manager Roberto Martinez too, he told PortuGOAL: “He’s very intelligent. Every pass, every touch, has got a thought behind it, and his understanding with other players creates ways of penetrating that are very difficult to defend against.”
He is a key part of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United team, and we can’t wait to see him in action next season. Let’s just let him get a rest first.
