Mason Mount set to join Manchester United
An announcement over Mason Mount’s move to Manchester United is expected shortly, although it’s unclear if it will be tonight, or tomorrow.
The England international’s profile at Chelsea was set to expire in June 2024, forcing the Blues to consider cashing in.
Mount is Manchester United’s first signing of the summer, strengthening the club’s midfield, with goalkeeper and striker the next top priorities.
The 24-year-old needs a fresh start, after a difficult season at a turbulent Chelsea in 2022/23, and can benefit from the comparative stability Erik ten Hag has provided at Old Trafford.
