Mason Mount has said his goodbyes to Chelsea ahead of his imminent move to Manchester United.
Mount, 24, released a video message via Instagram, stating ‘I’ve made the decision to leave Chelsea.’.
He recorded a video goodbye as he says he believed Chelsea fans deserved more than a written statement.
Mount added that he was grateful for the support he has received over the past 18 years, having been at Chelsea since he was six-years-old.
The midfielder added: “I know some of you won’t be happy with my decision, but it’s what’s right for me at this moment in my career.”
Mount had only one year left on his contract at Chelsea. Manchester United agreed a fee of £55 million for Mount, plus £5 million in add-ons.
An announcement from Manchester United is expected. Earlier today Fabrizio Romano said: “Mount’s expected to share his ‘goodbye’ message to Chelsea — then Manchester United will unveil Mount as their first summer signing.”
Romano adds the announcement is expected on Wednesday morning.
