SC office raises objections over petition seeking PTI dissolution

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court’s office raised administrative objections on Monday on a petition filed by a former confidant of Imran Khan seeking dissolution of the PTI in view of the “hate speeches and anti-institution rhetoric” of the ex-prime minister.

Mohammad Aun Chaudhry, who has now joined the Istekham-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), argued in his petition that Mr Khan’s speeches “violate different provisions of the Constitution.

The office of the Supreme Court’s registrar raised an objection on the petition that Aun Chaudhry did not specify how this matter relates to public interest and deserves to be taken up under Article 184/3 of the Constitution.

Another objection on the petition was that the PM and the defence minister cannot be cited as respondents.
