Man United fans all saying same thing about performance vs Wolves, it’s a concern for Erik ten Hag

Manchester United fans have identified a major concern for Erik ten Hag after the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday.

The Red Devils broke the deadlock in the second half of their opening Premier League match and secured all three points thanks to Raphael Varane.

Ten Hag was forced to deploy Marcus Rashford as a striker in the absence of Rasmus Hojlund, who has currently been ruled out due to injury.

The United manager splashed out a hefty £72m transfer fee to sign Hojlund from Atalanta, with Ten Hag in desperate need for a reliable striking option.

Manchester United fans not happy with lack of strikers

United fans wasted no time in flocking to social media to voice their concerns over attacking options and Rashford being played as a striker instead of on the wing.

“I’ve never seen a team as in need of a top striker as this United side,” one fan said.

Another angrily tweeted: “The attack is horrendous and I’m not sure any striker changes that, so many individuals.”

“What’s crazy is that United [are] waiting on an injured Hojlund to come solve the striker problem. We’re in a serious mess,” a third Twitter user added.

And a fourth posted: “United need a striker. Rashford isn’t one.”

Someone else commented: “United look awful, don’t know why they persist with Rashford [as] a striker.”

While a sixth wrote: “United desperately need a striker. Rashford needs to be put on the wing. Nothing is clicking.”

Erik ten Hag’s update on Rasmus Hojlund

Speaking ahead of the Wolves clash, Ten Hag played down concerns over Hojlund’s absence from the squad and insisted that United are “not in a rush” for him to return.

“We are not in a rush,” he said (via The Daily Mirror).

“We know without him we have also a strong team and the position is covered so we don’t rush in this.

“It is about that he is in the right level, the first fitness level and then we have to integrate him, training and bring him in for the games so we take our time.

“It is not about winning in this moment, it is about winning in the long term.”
