Manchester United moving nearer to securing 4 signings before transfer deadline

Manchester United have unfinished business as the transfer window draws to a close, and there could be a number of incomings.

Many will remember the days before transfer windows and transfer deadlines, and prefer them. But at least a firm deadline provides this indecisive Manchester United regime with a cut-off date.

Without this Friday’s transfer deadline, the Glazers would likely keep everybody hanging over the unresolved spots in Manchester United’s squad, just as they have done with the takeover.

Ahead of the deadline it looks like Manchester United are slowly moving closer to at least four new additions.

Altay Bayindir

Manchester United are expected to shortly conclude the signing of new back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

The Mail report Bayindir could cost as little as £4.3 million. He will replace Dean Henderson, who is set to sign with Crystal Palace.

The Turkey international may need to step up in January, with Andre Onana now expected to head to the AFCON with Cameroon.

Marc Cucurella

Manchester United have been forced into the market to find a new left-back with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured.

A move for the world’s most expensive left-back isn’t a bad solution on a temporary basis, with Marc Cucurella identified as a solution.

Marca report a loan agreement is imminent, with Cucurella surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and keen on reviving his career at Old Trafford.

Sofyan Amrabat

This one has dragged out long enough to be formally branded as a ‘saga’. We all know Sofyan Amrabat wants a move to Manchester United, but the questions has been over how much the club want him.

The Athletic report now that United are finally negotiating with Fiorentina, aiming to tie up a loan deal.

An agreement has not been reached yet, but we are optimistic this will all be agreed in time for the transfer deadline, one way or another.

Jonny Evans

A move which is both uninspiring and necessary, Manchester United are expected to sign Jonny Evans on a one year deal.

This could be concluded after the transfer deadline as Evans is a free agent. However, with Raphael Varane injured, United will want the option to call Evans into the squad for this weekend’s game, which would require him to be registered by Friday midday.

BBC Sport’s Simon Stone reports Varane’s injury makes it ‘certain’ Evans will be offered a contract.
