MUTV pundit expects Man Utd changes v Forest, picks out impressive substitute

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag did not make any changes with his line-up at the weekend.

After a disappointing performance in the opening match of the season, Erik ten Hag took a gamble which backfired.

Ten Hag selected the same XI, hoping for a response from his players who had just about sneaked a 1-0 win over Wolves.

It didn’t work, with the Red Devils falling to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham.

Manchester United changes expected

It is unlikely Ten Hag repeats his mistake when Manchester United host Nottingham Forest this coming weekend.

MUTV pundit Ben Thornley expects Ten Hag to switch it up, and picked out Jadon Sancho as one player who he wants to come into the team.

He told the channel: “I do feel now the result’s gone against us and certainly the heads dropped in the second half from some players, that there will be a couple of changes.

“I thought Jadon Sancho came on and was quite bright, like he was on Monday.”

Jadon Sancho deserves opportunity

Manchester United duo Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have not impressed in the opening two matches of the season.

Meanwhile in his brief cameo appearances, Sancho has looked inventive, and confident in possession.

Against Tottenham, Sancho completed 93 per cent of his passes, and had three successful dribbles, more than any player on the pitch – despite only being introduced in the 66th minute.

Sancho had a bright pre-season too, and against Nottingham Forest next week he should get a chance. The only question is which role he should play, left, right, or even through the middle.
